What it does for an application

  1. Your fields come in by SBI, in a few minutes.
  2. You put the actions you're thinking of onto the fields they'd go on.
  3. It totals what they'd pay at the rates GOV.UK publishes, which arrive in your own table and are yours to check and change, and warns you if the plan runs up against the 25 per cent limited area rule.
  4. It gives you the parcel numbers and areas in the RPA's own terms, so you're typing from a sheet rather than working the same sums out twice.

It can't submit for you, and nothing can: the RPA takes no file, and applications are made on the Rural Payments screens, parcel by parcel. The figures are planning estimates at the published rates, which arrive in your own table and are yours to check and change. Where Tilth's area for a field and the RPA's differ, theirs is the one that counts, and the sheet says so. The SFI is an England scheme, and the fields come in from the RPA's own open data, so bringing them in by SBI is England too.

Your data is yours

Tilth is built by a working farmer in Essex, and it runs on one rule. Your records are never sold, never shared, and never used to sell you anything. Everything can be downloaded whenever you like, in ordinary files, and you can leave whenever you like.
